Artcic Heart

19″ H x 22″ W x 11″ D

My thoughts on creating Arctic Heart stems from the thought that quartz is the most powerful healing stone of the mineral kingdom. It is known as the stone of power and amplifies any energy or intention outwards into the surrounding environment.

My thoughts on the creation of Psychopomp stems from their role to escort the deceased soul to the afterlife. The wood in this sculpture represents Earh. The pyrite represents souls being grasp from Earth and taken to the afterlife. Classical examples of Psychopomp are: the ancient Egyptian god Anubis, the god Yama in Hinduism, the Greek ferrymen Charon, and the god Hermes, the Roman god Mercury, the Norse Valkyries, the Aztec Xolotl, eagles, crows and even the Grim Reaper.

My thoughts on creating Equus Ferus stem from the idea that we all dream of being that roaming wild free spirit. This horse captures the free spirit of a wild horse.
