Psychopomp

28″ H x 14″ W x 23″ D

My thoughts on the creation of Psychopomp stems from their role to escort the deceased soul to the afterlife. The wood in this sculpture represents Earh. The pyrite represents souls being grasp from Earth and taken to the afterlife. Classical examples of Psychopomp are: the ancient Egyptian god Anubis, the god Yama in Hinduism, the Greek ferrymen Charon, and the god Hermes, the Roman god Mercury, the Norse Valkyries, the Aztec Xolotl, eagles, crows and even the Grim Reaper.

Violin one of 24

23″ H x 19″ W x 8″ D

My thoughts on the creation of the violin stems from the love of hearing the violin play. The lines are very sensual, as is the music it creates. I created this piece portraying my wife playing it capturing her beauty, as well as, the violins.

Gaia of the Earth

10″ H x 6″ W x 6″ D

My thoughts on Gaia Of the Earth. Many of my creations incorporate wood within the sculpture. With this piece I wanted to have the element of the wood as part of the body that is encased in silverware.
